Three cheers for Galentine’s: Try this trio of cocktails for your next girls’ night
Feb. 14 may be for romance, but Feb. 13 is all about the gals. Celebrate the power of friendship with three easy-to-make Galentine’s Day-ready cocktails.
Orange Glow Martini
Bright citrus is the perfect antidote to dark winter days – and this three-ingredient cocktail gets a double dose from orange liqueur and bitters.
Ingredients
· 2 oz. vodka (or gin)
· 1 oz. Cointreau or other clear orange liqueur
· 1 dash orange bitters
· Orange wheel for garnish, optional
Instructions
1. Add everything to a shaker with plenty of ice.
2. Shake hard for 15 seconds.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
4. Garnish with orange wheel.
Pink Berry Cosmo
This take on the iconic “girls’ night” cocktail is bright, fruity and sweet – boosted by muddled berries that add a bright pop of color and flavor.
Ingredients
· 1½ oz. vodka
· ½ oz. orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
· 1 oz. cranberry juice
· ½ oz. fresh lime juice
· ½ oz raspberry or strawberry purée (or muddle 3–4 fresh berries)
· Optional sparkle: a splash of prosecco or edible glitter
Instructions
1. Rim the glass: Run lime around the edge, dip in pink sugar. Set aside.
2. Shake it up: Add vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, lime juice, and berry purée to a shaker with ice. Shake for 15 seconds.
3. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
4. Top with prosecco if using, garnish, and serve immediately.
Ruby Royale
Think of this ruby red cocktail as a valentine in a glass. Light, bubbly and with just the right amount of sweetness, this refreshing cocktail is fit for a queen.
Ingredients
· 1 oz. vodka or gin
· ½ oz. pomegranate juice
· ¼ oz. fresh lemon juice
· ¼ oz. simple syrup (adjust to taste)
· Chilled prosecco or champagne (about 3-4 oz.)
Instructions
1. Add vodka, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.
2. Shake 5-7 seconds to chill.
3. Strain into a champagne flute.
4. Top gently with prosecco or champagne.
5. Garnish and serve immediately.
